SACS 7 Acolytes

SACS installs 7 new acolytes

On August 9, 2022, during the community Mass at the San Agustin Center of Studies, Quezon City, our seven third-year professed friars were instituted to the ministry of acolytate. They were instituted as acolytes by Rev. Fr. Edgardo L. Lazo, OSA, the community prior, on behalf of the prior provincial, Very Rev. Fr. Andres D. Rivera Jr., OSA. The new acolytes are:

  • Fray Jeremy Jonas R. Alcaria, OSA
  • Fray Ronel C. Bayon-on, OSA
  • Fray Nemie Boy R. Cataluña, OSA
  • Fray Glenn A. Macorol, OSA
  • Fray King V. Nepangue, OSA
  • Fray CSN S. Pomoy, OSA
  • Fray Harvey Kent S. Solatorio, OSA

The ministry of the acolytate is part of their formation as ministers of the Church. As acolytes, they are enabled more to minister at the liturgy and to assist the poor and the sick, especially in bringing them the Eucharist.

The installation to the ministry of the Acolytate is a prerequisite of the Catholic Church for those who wish to be ordained to the priesthood.

Please continue to pray for our seminarians and friars, so that they may continue to grow better as servants of Christ and as servants of the Church.
