CSA- Bacolod celebrates 60th anniversary

The whole educative community of Colegio San Agustin – Bacolod celebrated the school’s 60th Founding Anniversary on July 8, 2022. The event started with a Thanksgiving Mass presided by the Prior Provincial and Chair of CSA – Bacolod’s Board of Trustees, Fr. Andres D. Rivera, Jr., OSA. Fr. Arnel S. Dizon, OSA, School President and Prior of the Local Augustinian Community, together with other priests – members of the Community concelebrated the Mass. The theme of the diamond jubilee celebrations is: “Grounded in Values and Excellence, Ascending with Optimism.” 

The celebrations continued after the Mass with a motorcade around the main streets of Bacolod City. A cultural show showcased the many and varied talents of CSA students, alumni, and personnel, was held at the school auditorium. In the afternoon, a sports festival was held at the school grounds, participated by the faculty members and other school personnel. The school also launched the 60th Founding Anniversary Mall Exhibit at the North Wing of SM City Bacolod on June 29, 2022. Fr. Dizon led the ribbon-cutting. The said event was attended by CSA – Bacolod’s committed alumni, friars, students, faculty, and staff.

CSA-B traces its beginnings to the Casanova School founded by Doña Soledad Lacson Locsin, which officially became Colegio de San Agustin de Bacolod on July 8, 1962. It initially offered kindergarten, elementary, and high school education. Today, Colegio San Agustin-Bacolod is a living testament to a vision and mission that has withstood the challenges of the times. Viva, San Agustin!
