Socorro greets new Parish Administrators

The Our Mother of Perpetual Help Parish (OMPH) in Bucas Grande Island, Socorro, Surigao del Norte, welcomed its new parish administrators.

Rev. Fr. Edmar A. Escobar, OSA alongside Rev. Fr. Benjamin Gamos, OSA and Rev. Fr Alfonso Sedurifa, OSA were installed as Parish Priest and Parochial Vicars respectively on August 14, 2021.

In lieu of the penitential rite during the mass, Rev. Fr. Laureano L. Espuerta Jr., Vicar Forane, installed the new pastors of the parish on behalf of the Bishop of the Diocese of Surigao, Most Rev. Antonieto D. Cabajog, D.D.

Rev. Fr. Glen Donoso, DCS, Parish Priest of San Benito, Siargao Island,  read the appointment letter of Bishop Cabajog.

Fr. Escobar, the new Parish Priest, was formerly designated as Parochial Vicar of the same diocese at Santa Ana Parish, Burgos, Siargao Island.

Meanwhile, Fr. Sedurifa was formerly assigned at the Augustinian Novitiate and Prayer House in Cebu and Fr. Gamos was previously serving at the San Agustin Center of Studies in Quezon City.

Moreover, Rev. Roner Anildes, OSA, deacon, is also part of the community assisting to the parish’s pastoral ministry.

The diocesan priests from the Vicariate of Mount Carmel composed of the parishes in Siargao Island and Bucas Grande Island were also present in the installation.
